English Proverb of the Week #2

Categories:

Here is the second English Proverb of the Week:

A closed mouth catches no flies.

It means that it is often safer to keep one’s mouth shut. There is an equivalent in French. I prefer the French proverb because it’s more beautiful.

In French we say: “The word is silver but silence is gold”.

By the way, in fact this proverb comes from an Arabic one but is very used in France.
